SoaveSoave is the wine growing region surrounding the historic fortified town of Soave. It is famous for it's Italian Dry White wine and is DOCG listed.
The town of Soave is quite beautiful and is surrounded by a fully complete fortress wall. On the hill above the town is the old Castle that is relatively well preserved and provides a very large part of the wall and the hills around the town are covered with vines with views out to the snowcapped mountains in the background. We visited the castle and found it very interesting, but we note that it is quite steep to get up to it from town. We stayed in quite a new and modern hotel (Hotel Roxy) just outside the south side of the city wall, which we found really central and quite nice with great value breakfast and happy hour!
